Congress president Sonia Gandhi Thursday evening called on the visiting Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao at the Taj Palace Hotel, a party official said.
Gandhi was received by the visiting leader, he added.
Karan Singh, head of the foreign affairs department of the Congress party, accompanied Gandhi during the visit.
"Congress partys contacts with the Chinese leadership are decades old. Both leaders share the concerns of development of the Asia region," the office-bearer said.
