Full Nominations List of 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards


The nominees for this year's Academy of Country Music Awards have been revealed during a press conference at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville on February 11. Announced by Julianne Hough, Kellie Pickler, LeAnn Rimes and Jessica Simpson, it was revealed that Brad Paisley and Heidi Newfield both led the pack with six and four counts respectively.

Brad and Heidi were up against each other in Single Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Video of the Year. For the three categories, they were joined by such contenders as Miranda Lambert, Trace Adkins, Jamey Johnson and Carrie Underwood among others.

In addition to those nominations, Brad also had a chance to win Entertainer of the Year title, competing with Kenny Chesney, George Strait, Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood. He got his other nods in Vocal Event of the Year and Top Male Vocalist, trying to beat down Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith, Josh Turner, Brooks & Dunn and Sugarland.

As for Heidi, she received her fourth nomination in Top Female Vocalist category. She entered a stiff competition with Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift and Lee Ann Womack.

2009 Academy of Country Music Awards is scheduled for April 5 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and will be broadcast live on CBS. Its winners will be determined via voting on GACTV.com, beginning Friday, February 13.
