Being in the same pub twice in 24 hours might be thought by some to be extreme, but not me.
Last night I met again a wonderful couple (real and genuine people people) whose wedding I had officiated at earlier in the year.
It was great to see them again and to hear about those first few exciting months of married bliss.
And that had been preceded with a glorious reunion with a chum and former colleague who left Edinburgh for a new post in the sunny south during the summer
Today a CCF comrade at lunchtime for a bite to eat.
The venue for these revelries is Hectors (their spelling and with apologies for the unprepossessing photo) in our own wee part of the city.
A great, comfortable place, lively atmosphere, brilliant host in Johnny, good beers (although I was on the Sancerre) and food that was right out of the gastropub handbook.
To be honest, it makes all those hours at work to pay for such outings well worth it.
